my great-grandfather was daniel c. muller, one of the greatest wooden carousel carvers ever, if i may say so myself. so wooden carousels and their histories are dear to my heart. the c.w. parker carousel at jantzen beach, which has been there since 1928, is being closed down, taken apart, and boxed up on april 22nd. such a shame! so we knew we had to go get some photos of it and enjoy it before it's gone. it's spring break, but instead of being sunny it is as grey and rainy and dreary as ever so two hours riding an indoor carousel over and over with ice cream afterward was pretty much exactly what the kids needed.

I love pictures and the caption made them even better! Such a great story.
ReplyDeleteLove love love all the color! Super love Mulls's grouchy face, he is too cute. These are really lovely. You know that is our special spot and I am so sad to see it go.
ReplyDeleteLight and fresh! Very nice! I didn't even know about this spot. Now I am going to have to take my daughter before it is gone!
